He Goes Before You

Deuteronomy 31:8

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Exodus 14:14

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.

You are not walking into this day first. God already has. Before your feet hit the floor, He was ahead of you. Before the conversation you are dreading, before the work that feels heavy, before the unknown that keeps tapping on your mind — the Lord Himself goes before you. He will also be with you. He will not leave you. He will not forsake you. That means you do not have to charge in afraid, and you do not have to freeze. He is already in the room you have not entered yet. He is already in the need you have not solved yet. When Israel stood at the sea with no way through, the word was simple: the Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. Still does not mean lazy. Still means trust. Still means you stop trying to be God, and you let God be God. Lift your head. The path is not empty. He went first.

1

Name one thing ahead of you and say, “Lord, You have already gone before me.”

2

Refuse one fearful thought and replace it with Deuteronomy 31:8.

3

Walk into the next task as someone who is not alone.

Lord, thank You that You go before me and stay with me. I will not be afraid. I will not be discouraged. Fight for me. Lead me. I trust You with this day. Amen.
