He Goes Before You
Faith Compass
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
For you shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight, for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.
Morning Light
Some days start with a door you have not walked through yet. A conversation, a decision, a room you would rather not enter. You do not have to rush in as if God is waiting on the other side to see how you do. He goes before you. He is also the one who stays behind you, so what you fear you left unfinished is not chasing you alone. Jesus already walked into the hardest place, the cross, and He did not leave you there. If this morning feels like a step you are not ready for, you can take it with Him in front of you. He has not stepped aside.
Walk It Out
Write the one thing ahead of you that you keep bracing for, and read Deuteronomy 31:8 over it.
Take the next small step without hurrying, and thank Him that He is both ahead of you and behind you.
Quiet Place
Lord, I can feel the hurry in me. I want to get past what is in front of me, or I want to avoid it. Remind me that You go before me, and that You are my rear guard too. I do not have to enter this day in fear or in flight. Be with me in the conversation I am not sure how to have, and in the work I cannot see the end of. I trust what Jesus has already done more than I trust my own nerve. Go ahead of me, and keep me from running. “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you.” Deuteronomy 31:8
