Joy in the Journey

Proverbs 17:22

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

It’s Friday—your coffee is probably working overtime, your to-do list is laughing at you, and somehow your socks still don’t match. In the middle of the weekly chaos, God invites you to laugh a little and rejoice a lot.

Jesus wasn’t afraid to enjoy a good meal with friends or celebrate at a wedding. He knows life gets heavy, but He also knows joy is serious kingdom business.

A cheerful heart isn’t denial—it’s defiance against the darkness. The gospel reminds us that the same Jesus who turned water into wine can turn our weariness into worship and our Friday fumbles into fuel for joy.

So smile, breathe, and remember: the weekend is coming… but His joy is here right now.

1
Lighten Up

Take a moment to laugh at something small today (even if it’s your own coffee spill). Thank God for the gift of joy.

2
Live It Out Boldly

Share a light-hearted moment or word of encouragement that brings a smile to someone else’s face.

Lord, thank You for the gift of laughter and the deep joy that comes from You. Help me rejoice today even when life feels a little ridiculous. Fill my heart with Your cheerful medicine. “The joy of the Lord is my strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).
