Trusting God for New Paths

Isaiah 43:18-19

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

When one door closes, it can feel heavy—but God is always at work opening new ones. He gently closes chapters not to harm us, but to lead us into fresh seasons of purpose and blessing.

Picture Jesus standing before a new door, inviting you forward with confidence: “Trust Me. I am making a way.” The gospel shows us this pattern—Jesus closed the door on death so He could open the door to eternal life and new beginnings for all who believe.

Today, as you reflect on closed doors and new possibilities, lean into His trustworthy guidance. His paths may look different than expected, but they are filled with hope, renewal, and streams of living water in dry places. What new thing might God be springing up in your life right now?

1
Release and Trust

Prayerfully release any closed doors from the past and ask God to help you perceive the new paths He is opening.

2
Step Forward

Take one small step of obedience today—whether through prayer, conversation, or action—toward the new opportunities God is placing before you.

Lord, thank You for closing doors that need closing and opening new ones in Your perfect timing. Help me trust You fully, release the past, and walk boldly through the new paths You prepare. “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19).
