But God… Together
Sunday Word
Beloved family and friends, Today I want to speak straight from my heart to yours as we reflect on this past week and step toward a new one. This week held excitement and disappointment, dreams and reality checks.
My wife was so full of joy when she found a beautiful farmhouse that included an active business—just a mile from a dear friend. Her eyes lit up as she imagined what life could look like there. For a moment it felt like a gift straight from the Lord. Then the reality settled in: maintaining an entire farm is more than two people can carry on their own. The wind got knocked out of her sails.
Maybe you know that feeling. You see something good, something that stirs hope in you, and then the practical weight of it hits. The dream feels too big for your shoulders. The enemy steps in and sinks your ship. But God.
Scripture tells us, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans” (Proverbs 16:3). And we know that “he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).
This is where the beauty of the Body of Christ shines. We were never meant to carry big dreams alone.
The Bible says we are “one body, and each member belongs to all the others” (Romans 12:5). What if the farmhouse isn’t just about two people owning land, but about a community coming together — brothers and sisters using their hands, their skills, their time, and their faith to see something beautiful built for God’s glory?
The Lord placed on my heart a long time ago, a movement founded by JR Tyndale Ministries: Homes 4 Homeless. This operation was woven into my mental being planted seeds by the Lord; a dream that seemed to have fizzled in the past, but with this new property in sight, gave us new hope, an opportunity to see that His plans will come to fruition and we will see them through according to His will.
As we reflected in Monday’s devotional, God’s mercies are new every morning and we are invited to commit our plans to Him. Sometimes He answers those plans by calling the whole family — the church family — to join in. Two are better than one, and a cord of three strands is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).
So today I want to encourage every dreamer here: Don’t let the wind being knocked out of your sails be the end of the story. Bring those dreams to the Lord and to the Body. Pray with us. Dream with us. Some of you have farming experience, building skills, creative ideas, strong backs, or simply faithful prayers.
God can knit us together to do what none of us can do alone. This week reminded us again: we serve a God who finishes what He starts and who loves to display His glory through His people working together. Let’s believe Him for fresh grace — not just for individual hearts, but for shared dreams that point people to Jesus.
Will you join us in praying for this? Will you ask the Lord how He might use you in someone else’s dream — or how He might use the Body to breathe life into yours?
Let’s pray together: Lord Jesus, thank You for every dream You place in our hearts. Thank You that when the wind gets knocked out of our sails, You are still moving, you give us encouragement and hope in You. As you remind us that we are more than conquerors and you always lead us to Triumph. We bring this farmhouse desire to You. If it is from You, make a way. Raise up Your people to come together — with hands, hearts, and faith — so we can dream bigger than what two people can carry. Teach us to walk in fresh grace as one Body. Strengthen my wife’s heart and every dreamer here. We trust You with the details. In Your mighty name, Amen.
If this message touched your heart, share it with someone who needs to be reminded that we don’t dream alone. Let’s encourage one another and believe God for what only He can do through His people. You are known. You are loved. And together, with the Lord, there is fresh grace for every new week.
With love and faith,
JR Tyndale Ministries
